Vilamoura Marina is only 5 minutes from the Hilton using the hotel's complimentary hotel shuttle bus (note it runs on a set schedule), or you can grab one of the readily available and reasonably priced Ubers and Bolts.
Overall this was a great stay, the hotel is a great base to explore the area. I hope this Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa review is useful to those planning a trip to the Algarve!
Hilton Vilamoura King Deluxe Room with Pool View
We were given room 4170 on the top floor on the hotel. The room had a spacious balcony with a great view overlooking the main pool area and over towards the Grand Vacations end of the resort. A great spot to have a relaxed pre-dinner drink, read and to people watch!
A nice welcome gift was waiting in the room of a 20cl bottle of Port and some very tasty home made cookies. I'm unclear if this is a Diamond welcome gift or something all guests receive. The hotel also separately organised fizz and a cake for my birthday which was a lovely touch!
The room itself was large, well-appointed and was in reasonable condition with all the features and amenities you'd expect in a Hilton hotel of this rating. The décor was slightly early noughties, but passable.
The bathroom was a good size and interesting design, with the shower, toilet and bidet off to the back through a frosted glass door, then the sink and bath to the front which had a window through to the bedroom with a curtain to draw for privacy.
My only complaints were the lack of a Nespresso (or similar) coffee machine with the provided coffee being of poor quality as well as the very ancient TV system which barely worked and didn't allow for casting or use of any streaming apps. The latter should be a given in this class of hotel in 2026.

Hilton Vilamoura Pools
Reception issued a voucher issued during check-in which can be exchanged for a towel per guest in the hut located behind the Blue Pelican pool bar.
The main pool area has a large lagoon style pool, with a kids pool and another smaller pool under the waterfall. There was another fairly large pool up at the Grand Vactions end of the resort.
Not having kids, our pool of choice was the smaller adults only pool which sits to the side of the hotel building. Surrounded by gardens it felt quite secluded and away from the busy main pool areas; almost felt like a small boutique hotel's pool, hidden away in what is a pretty large resort. It had seating built into the pool with massage jets - a lovely spot to sit and read.
Hilton Vilamoura Private Beach on Falésia
The My.Al.Mar - Tapas by the Sea bar/ & restaurant was pretty basic had decent range of drinks plus tapas on the food side, which we didn't try. They have toilets and showers for guest use, too. You can charge drinks and food back to your room should you want to.

Hilton Vilamoura Spa Review
The Hilton Vilamoura 7 Seven Spa is located in a separate building across from the hotel's main reception. I had high hopes for this as it looks great on the website, but it was a disappointment in several ways.
Hilton Honors Gold & Diamond guests can access the spa facilities free of charge; however, for all other guests, it's €25 for 3 hours of access.
I booked a massage as a birthday treat to myself. Their spa menu is rather odd, with vague, unclear names for the massage options and no descriptions offered other than "Like a dance around the body, the power of touch needs no words" or similar waffle. "Tranquility Massage", "Therapeutic Massage", and "Relax Massage" are examples—all of which mean essentially nothing without a description. Even after emailing them for more information, I was still largely left in the dark.
I went with the Tranquility massage, which was €140 for 1 hour—up there with the most I've ever paid. The masseur was lovely; however, the massage was not much more than fine. It was also closer to a deep-tissue massage than I expected for something called "Tranquility". I was sore for days afterward in the areas he worked on and honestly wished I had gone to a Thai place in town for half the price for a likely better experience.
We attempted to access the spa's wet facilities on one day of our 5-night stay and didn't bother in the end due to broken facilities and bizarre rules:
What an absolute farce for something meant to be a relaxing experience. I avoided it for the rest of our stay.
- Out of Service: The spa pool (the main event) was out of service for at least 2 days. Staff didn't know when it might be fixed. This appears to be a recurring issue based on other reviews.
- Swim Caps Required: In order to use the wet facilities, you need to wear a swim cap. I've not encountered this at any other spa I've visited. They don't provide them free of charge either—you need to pay €5 for the privilege!
- No Towels: They don't provide towels for hotel guests. When I asked why, I was told, "There is a dressing gown in your room." I'm still unclear what that has to do with towels.
- No Storage: They have no lockers or storage, so you need to turn up already changed carrying only your towel (since they don't provide them), and there is nowhere to store anything else.
- Atmosphere: The staff here, unlike the rest of the hotel, were slightly standoffish and not particularly welcoming.
This spa really lets down what otherwise seems to be a well-run hotel. I dare say whoever is managing the spa needs to spend time at a few others elsewhere to get a feel for how they are run, as this place is abnormal to say the least. Don't book your stay expecting much, if anything, from this facility.
Hilton Vilamoura Breakfast
The food selection was great and quality generally good, with the usual hot and cold options plus some local options. Amazing fresh orange juice, plus some fizz to make a mimosa! There was an egg and omelette station for eggs to order. We ate here 4 days and always found something new to try.
